EMEIA Regional Update, Part 1: Winning Together with Record Growth and Commerce

Ever since the start of this year when I published my initial blog post introducing my new position at Allinial Global, I have been incredibly grateful for the immense support I’ve received from every member of the EMEIA community. The eagerness to showcase our combined business acumen has been truly inspiring. I am thrilled to join this future-minded group of high-quality firms and eager to make a positive impact on their future success, working alongside our experienced team.

Despite the challenges in the global economic environment, our region has also witnessed numerous noteworthy advancements that have infused the business landscape with an exhilarating sense of opportunity. We are delighted to be ideally positioned to capitalize on this growth with a wide range of services that target specific niche markets in the region.

Transformational Progress in the EMEIA Region

  • The EMEIA region has achieved record growth in terms of our share of global fee income, which has risen to $1.3B, as well as the single highest rate of referrals by region within Allinial Global.
  • Since January we have welcomed seven new firms in Belgium, Ireland, Greece, Jersey (UK), India, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain. Our pipeline of potential membership interest is up by five times compared to last year, mainly from markets where our footprint is missing or where service coverage requires improvement.
  • Twelve community groups are activated and led by EMEIA members, driving engagement across various technical and industry sector thought leadership channels.
  • Indian exchange rules governing Foreign Direct Investment by the Reserve Bank have relaxed restrictions to enable local businesses and individuals to pursue investment overseas. In May, Azets and KNAV held a Doing Business In (DBI) webinar to promote servicing capabilities in the UK market. As a result of the recent success and further market demand, KNAV and Walter France will host a DBI webinar in France led by Vaibhav Manek and Jacques De Nuce on 27 September 2023.

Launch of the Driving Commerce Marketplace®

An exciting digital revolution is taking place with the Allinial Global launch of the Driving Commerce Marketplace platform exclusively on AGConnect. Released on 20 July and presented by our very own Natasha Schamberger, the new marketplace enables firms to create their own Commerce Compass profiles to showcase their services, capabilities, and niche areas as we move toward an online solution to drive commercial opportunities together.

EMEIA firms can take advantage of our newly built module on AGConnect and begin to create service lines to showcase to the community. This can be very useful for spotlighting any newly established service units.

Simply create your Commerce Compass (and submit as many as you like) providing full details of coverage, staff, and key information about the offered services. There are some requirements, such as joining a community’s page for the line of business you would like to promote within Allinial Global, for example. In doing so, the information is posted on our matchmaking board for fellow advisors seeking solutions for their international clients. A practical use case and tips on navigating the pages can be found under the Commerce Marketplace tab on AGConnect. Head over to your online dashboard to start the experience instantly.

Community Groups and Thought Leadership Development

  • Several initiatives have been launched to accommodate our knowledge hub for EMEIA member firms. We have some exciting groups that members can join to get a market technical perspective on cross-border activities and collaboration opportunities. I would like to highlight the new channels to give readers more choice as during the summer period for .
    • Corporate Finance – Jon Allen and Vaibhav Manek
    • International Global Mobility – Alan Tam
    • Real Estate Practices Group – Zoltán Gálffy and Heather Powell
    • HR Practices Group – Chandan Lahoti
    • Indirect Tax Group – Andy Dawbarn and Antje Forbrich
  • Our newest group focuses on advising clients in the real estate sector that are going through acquisitions requiring audits and tax compliance with cross-jurisdictional regulatory authorities. The group will also work toward having an active presence in two large European real estate trade fairs in 2024 and raising the visibility of our collective offering from Allinial Global member firms.
  • With a growing number of community groups being created and reactivated, EMEIA members can stay abreast of developments in the profession by expertise, technical focus, and market insights from Allinial Global peers. If you have not done so already, I would encourage joining and signing up for the quarterly webinars from each group.

And that’s not all—the EMEIA region has also seen some exciting developments in governance, ESG, and sustainability, as well as a record turnout at the 2023 EMEIA Regional Conference. Stay tuned for Part 2 coming soon!
