Este año Ozgur Demirdoven EVP Global de Commerce y yo Ana Isabel Navarro directora regional de LATAM decidimos viajar a Centroamérica, a los países de Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panamá y Honduras. Región en la que en el último año nos fortalecimos enormemente como asociación con la adhesión de miembros importantes. Teníamos mucho interés de conocer las necesidades específicas de los países de esta región y ver como podíamos apoyarlos. Aprendimos que es una región super comercial, el intercambio de trabajos entre estos miembros es cada día más grande y esperamos pronto con la adhesión de un miembro en Nicaragua y El Salvador crezca aún más. Esta en nuestros proyectos que, a partir del próximo año, tengamos una reunión anual centroamericana. Seguiremos viajando visitando a cada uno de nuestros miembros y participando en los eventos más importantes de la industria en nuestra región como la Cumbre de las Américas organizada por la Asociación Interamericana de Contabilidad, representando a la asociación y nuestros miembros.
Hablando de conferencias, este año por segunda vez hemos sostenido nuestra Conferencia Latinoamericana virtual para aprovechar la oportunidad de asistir todos al Foro Global y el Summit (el mayor evento de US) que serán en Las Vegas en Noviembre al mismo tiempo para to enhance networking opportunities. A pesar de ser difícil participar en eventos en línea tuvimos más de 200 participantes que se interesaron en el tema de teste año, La firma del futuro. En Allinial Global trabajamos todos los días por ayudar a nuestros miembros a convertirse en la Firma del Futuro y se encuentren a la vanguardia en los servicios que ofrecen a sus clientes. Seguimos de cerca los cambios que se están dando día a día en nuestra industria y buscamos capacitar a nuestros miembros a través de nuestros eventos sobre los nuevos servicios como CAAS, virtual CFO, Data Analitics, y temas como criptomonedas, ciberseguridad, el metaverso. Si, también sobre el metaverso, porque nuestro miembro TATTICA en Brazil, que siempre busca estar a la vanguardia ya se encuentra ahí. La mayoría de nuestros seminarios web son en español para beneficiar a los miembros latinos en su propio idioma, y cuando no encontramos al orador ideal en español, ofrecemos a nuestros miembros la opción de traducción simultánea.
En Allinial Global nos preocupamos por la calidad, por lo que en la región de Latinoamérica estamos comprometidos y trabajando para ofrecerle a nuestros miembros la implementación de un sistema de control de calidad. La Cultura de Calidad, es lo que permite que tanto los socios como el personal de las firmas se sientan identificados y debidamente enfocados en realizar trabajos cumpliendo las normativas internacionales y las legislaciones de sus países que les permitan realizar trabajos con calidad. Esta iniciativa surgió de una de las reuniones de la comunidad de práctica de Auditoría.
Uno de los mayores beneficios de pertenecer a Allinial es el intercambio de mejores prácticas a través de las Comunidades de Práctica. Este año hemos creado nuevas comunidades como la fiscal y la legal y buscamos seguir creando nuevas comunidades que beneficien a nuestros miembros y sus clientes. Estamos ya trabajando en una comunidad de USMCA con miembros de los tres países.
Este año como Asociación ganamos el premio de Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) que otorga la revista International Accounting Bulletin. En nuestra región sostuvimos un webinar llamado “mujeres empresarias exitosas venciendo a tu peor enemigo” cada día más mujeres son socias de nuestros miembros y queremos seguir apoyándolas con herramientas que las hagan más exitosas.

From outstanding new member firms to new communities and member meetings, the Allinial Global Latin America region has made excellent progress in 2022. As we reflect on the region’s growth, we’re proud of the way our members collaborate to support one another and excited about our plans for the future.
Spotlight on Central America
Recently Ozgur Demirdoven, EVP of Global Commerce, and I, Ana Isabel Navarro, Regional Director of Latin America, decided to travel to Central America to the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, and Honduras. Over the past year we have strengthened ourselves enormously as an association in this region with the addition of several important member firms.
We were very interested in learning about the specific needs in these countries and seeing how we could support them. Our travels have shown us that Central America is a super commercial region; the exchange of referrals between these members is growing every day. And with the addition of a member in Nicaragua and El Salvador, we hope to see commerce grow even more.
Starting next year we plan to host an annual Central American meeting. We will continue traveling to visit each of our members and participate in key industry events in our region, such as the Summit of the Americas organized by the Inter-American Accounting Association (AIC), to represent the association and our members.
Firm of the Future
Speaking of conferences, this year for the second time we held our Latin American Regional Conference virtually. Our hope is that hosting the regional conference virtually will enable more of our Latin American members to attend Summit & Global Forum 2022 in Las Vegas to take advantage of expanded networking opportunities at the combined event in November.
Despite the challenges of participating in online events, we had more than 200 participants who were interested in the topic for this year’s virtual conference, the Firm of the Future. At Allinial Global we work every day to help our members become Firms of the Future who are at the forefront of the services they offer to their clients. We closely follow the changes in our profession and seek to train members through our events on new services such as CAAS, virtual CFO, data analytics, and topics such as cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, and the metaverse. Yes—even the metaverse, as AG Brazil member TATTICA, who always seeks to be at the forefront, is already there!
A Culture of Quality
At Allinial Global we care about quality, so in the Latin American region we are working to offer members the implementation of a quality control system, an initiative which arose from one of our LATAM Audit Community meetings. The Culture of Quality is what allows both the partners and the personnel in the firms to feel identified and duly focused on carrying out work with quality and in compliance with international regulations and the legislation of their countries.
One of the greatest benefits of belonging to Allinial Global is the exchange of best practices through our member communities. This year we created new regional communities such as tax and legal, and we will continue to look for opportunities to create new communities that benefit LATAM members and their clients. We are already working on a USMCA community with members from all three countries, for example.
DEI: Doing Our Part
In June Allinial Global won the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year award at the International Accounting Forum & Awards program, and in the LATAM region we are working to support the association’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We now offer most of our webinars in Spanish so that Latino members can access content in their own language, and when we can’t find the ideal speaker in Spanish, we offer our members the option of simultaneous translation.
The LATAM region also hosted a webinar called “Successful Businesswomen: Defeating Your Worst Enemy.” Hosted by Fernando Ralero, the webinar highlighted the challenges and barriers that successful women must face and overcome in leadership and decision making. Every day more women become partners of our member firms, and we are proud to continue supporting them and all of our members with targeted tools to enhance their success and well-being.
